4. Where can I get the drivers for my scanner?
Each scanner uses its own driver which makes finding the right driver for your particular scanner often very difficult. We have a page with links to many of the scanner drivers here.

5. How do I find out what software will work with my scanner?
Most scanners will come with some fairly basic scanning software that will allow you to scan your documents. If you need advanced features for more complex scanning jobs than you will need a little more than the packaged free software that came with your scanner. Feel free to give us a call and we can give you more details to help you determine your best scanning software solution.

6. How long can I use my rollers before they need to be replaced?
This depends entirely on the scanner model that you have. Some of the lower end scanner models recommend that you replace the rollers every 100,000 scans whereas the larger models will last 500,000 scans. You can use cleaning kits to prolong the life of your rollers. If you scan a high volumes of documents it is probably a good idea to replace your rollers about every six months, sometimes even more often. You can find roller kits for your scanner by looking at the accessories tab of your scanner model, or simply searchour website.

7. How do I clean my rollers and reading glass in my scanner?
We offer cleaning kits on our website that provide safe easy cleaning solutions.

8. There are vertical black lines coming in on my scanned images. What could be causing this?

Often after using the scanner for a long period of time a scanner will begin to show black vertical lines on all of the scanned images. This can be caused by many things. The most common cause, however, is a dirty reading glass. If you open up your scanner and look at the reading glass you may see dust or scratches on your glass that is causing this problem. Sometimes there will be buildup on the glass that looks like a scratch but really isn’t. This is easy to test: Try using your fingernail to break away the buildup from the glass and see if you can remove it. If you are still having problems give us a call at 877-356-2230 and we can help you troubleshoot the issue a little more.

9. Why is my scanner only scanning one page at a time?
Many scanners especially Canon scanners have an option to put the scanner in Automatic or Manual feed modes. In automatic feed mode the scanner will separate and feed in all of the pages automatically. In manual mode or "bypass mode" the scanner won’t separate pages (expecting only one page a a time)--this can inadvertently lead to multi-feeding if the scanner is unintentionally set to manual mode . This can usually be changed in the scanner driver or with a manual switch on the scanner itself.

10. How do I know what scanning resolution I should use?
The scanning resolution or dots per inch (dpi), as it is commonly referred to, determines the scanning quality of an image. The higher the dpi is, the higher quality the image is; but a higher resolution can also slow your scanner down and makes the image files larger. Generally speaking 200 or 300 dpi is good for business documents. For images or other documents with intricate detail that you want to have preserved you should set at the highest resolution you can.
